Payten is an athletic OF/MIF who impacts the game with her defensive range, offensive approach and instinctive baserunning. Defensively, she gets a good first step, tracks the ball well and uses her closing speed to cover ground and close gaps.

At the plate, Payten is a gap-to-gap hitter who demonstrates good bat-to-ball skills and adjustability, allowing her to use multiple parts of the field.

On the bases, Payten is aggressive and instinctive. She actively looks for opportunities to take the extra base and will test a defense's ability to make a play. Her baserunning creates pressure, forces quick decisions and makes opposing defenses execute cleanly to prevent her from advancing.

Payten's combination of range, defensive instincts, offensive adjustability and disruptive baserunning gives her multiple ways to impact a game.
